Funding Help
NAG is very happy to announce that a generous offer to match your donations dollar-for-dollar is available now. Our legal action is ongoing and we need help from the community to pay for it. Please keep in mind that we are fighting on behalf of everyone, especially those who are in the vicinity of the tank on Porter Mill Road and those who may be in the crosshairs for future tanks.
Contributions to the Neighborhood Action Group should be sent to:
NAG
24790 Porter Mill Road
Hebron MD 21830
All contributions will remain anonymous and our books are open to show how we spend your money.
Visit from Secretary Grumbles
Secretary Grumbles of the Maryland Dept of Environment (MDE) will be attending the Wicomico County Council meeting on the evening of March 2 at 6 PM. Members of the community may attend, but there will not be an open forum where questions can be asked directly to the Secretary. However, if you have questions, regarding issues relating to DAF and the storage tank, email them to this blog and we can arrange to have your question(s) presented to the Secretary.
MDE has no authority over DAF storage tanks but they are aware of DAF and the controversy surrounding the use of the product on farmers' fields. We hope to hear MDE's input on DAF, what processes are available to make it less offensive and the effect on the environment when continuously used on the fields and near water sources."
Here is the latest photograph of the tank. The massive size of this tank is clearly illustrated when comparing it to the size of the tanker truck next to it.
