County Council Meeting

IMPORTANT COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY!

Tuesday, August 2, 2022

6:00 PM

Government Office Building, Room 301

25 N. Division Street

Salisbury, Maryland

A lot has been going on behind the scenes since this blogger posted. NAG has been really working hard to encourage the County Council to ban or at least put reasonable restrictions on DAF tanks and lagoons as they write the new legislation concerning DAF storage. The Council has been working hard too and will soon be determining what lies in store for the residents of Wicomico County. And the permit moratorium for new tanks will soon expire.

This Tuesday night the County Council will hold its regularly scheduled Council meeting. Following that meeting citizens are welcomed to speak and tell the Council members that they do not want DAF storage in our county. It can be as plain as that, or they can testify to how the storage and transportation of DAF has adversely affected their quality of life.(The meeting starts at 6 PM, but the open session won’t start before 6:30.)

This legislation is about to be written and YOUR VOICE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

If you can’t make the meeting, email or call your Councilmembers. The link to the Council Directory is on the right sidebar of this blog and it only takes a few minutes to send them a message. Tell them you don’t want your county to become the final dumping ground for DAF.

NAG has created a flier for our neighbors to read and share. Feel free to download it, print it, share the link, whatever you think will help us get the word out.

"YOUR NEW NEIGHBOR?" flier. (Works best with Google browser. Click on link. Move your cursor to the bottom or top of the flier's webpage to see the download and print icons that you must use.)

Most importantly, everyone needs to keep watching this blog for announcements concerning future Council meetings and what the public needs to do. The members of NAG have been working for you for over 3 years. Now the citizens of Wicomico County need to help themselves and tell the County Council to end DAF storage in your county!

Contributions to the Neighborhood Action Group are still needed and should be sent to:

All contributions will remain anonymous and our books are open to show how we spend your money.
